BECOMING A MEMBER

Congratulations!
Your decision to consider membership at Ridgemont Country Club could result in years of enjoyment for you and your family. We hope you join us.

Golf Events
Golf is the main order of business at Ridgemont, and our golfing program and facilities are as good as or better than any in the Rochester District. A high level of quality in all things related to golf is the product of a dedicated and expert staff. It is also the result of member participation in the maintenance of the course and itâs buildings, The members, working in committees, also assist the staff in planning and organization of the major golfing events throughout the season.

Ridgemont is fortunate to have an experienced club professional to manage and ensure the success of the entire golfing program. He and his staff ensure that each event is so well organized and managed that the golfers are barely aware, if at all, of the work thatâs involvedö and are thus completely free simply to enjoy the competition of the game of golf.

The event that inaugurates the golfing season is the Mudders Tournament. It traditionally is played on the first Saturday in May. Of course, the Muddersâ attracts a crowd, coming as it does at the end of a long winter.

The most popular events of the year are the Club Championship Tournaments. There are two of these, one for the women and the other for the men. Each is a three-day tournament scheduled into the week preceding Labor Day.

The format of the Championship Tournaments assigns each golfer to a ãflight", which groups together golfers of similar skills. This provides each golfer with an opportunity to become champion of his or her flight.

There are other important and challenging golfing events throughout the season, such as the Menâs and Womenâs Invitational Tournaments, The Couples Championship, Couples Invitational, the Sadie Hawkins, the Snowbird and many, many others. There is even a Junior Golf Championship Tournament to highlight Ridgemontâs excellent Junior Golf Program.

In addition there are golf leagues for everyone who enjoys the competition and camaraderie one finds in weekly golf matches. And each Saturday, there is a special event sponsored by the Pro.

Other Activities
In addition to the many golfing activities that are held throughout the season, there are many non-golfing activities that are enjoyed by our membership. These include dinner dances, bingo, bowling leagues, bridge, a garden club, a book club, an Olympic-sized pool and an exercise room with the newest and most modern equipment. Most of these activities are available to you as a member eleven months of the year, being closed only for our shutdown period in February-March.

Ridgemont golfers, including juniors, are also eligible to play in tournaments sponsored by the RDGA (Rochester District Golf Association) and the NYSGA (New York State Golf Association), due to Ridgemontâs membership in these organizations.

Ridgemont also has reciprocal agreements with other golf clubs outside the Rochester District at which arrangements can be made for you to visit and play.

Once again, on behalf of the Board of Governors, staff and members of Ridgemont Country Club, we would like to encourage you to join us and look forward to meeting you.
