GOLF MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Welcome, and we appreciate your interest in RCC as a new center of enjoyment for the wonderful game of golf. In 2014 we chose to change the business model and direction of the club, through new unique golf plans. We introduced a reduced-price, full golf membership. We also added various other ‘smaller’ golf plans, to accommodate the changing demands of recreational time at a better value. Here is some of the change:
The ‘Arnold Palmer’ Full golf provides a 33% savings up to 45% age dependent, from the dues of current senior full golf members. It is a prime time unlimited play plan, an experience Ridgemont opportunity. After the initial one or two year incentive period, for all over 50 years of age, dues must increase every year ~ 10-15% to ultimately meet the same full dues basis as the current regular golf members.
The Associate Golf memberships utilize play privileges during the Soft-times, non-prime time play; when time for golf is limited. These offer even greater money savings. The three (3) Associate plans are:
Soft-time: Play any time Monday through Thursdays, tee off Fridays before 11 AM and after 3 PM, and weekends after 3 PM
Sunrise: Tee off from opening until 10 AM weekdays, and after 4 PM weekend days
Twilight : Tee off after 3 PM all seven (7) days.
For any of these associate plans, Golf during prime time as desired, is on a pay-for-play basis. Associate Golf plans don’t enable the participation in leagues and tournaments. This is the distinction to a full golf membership, besides the prime-time opportunity. Thus, the value is mirrored for comparison, in the price of each membership category.
All new memberships have a 7 day advance tee time privilege. Charter members, those who were RCC members prior to the 2013 purchase whom remained members, receive a 10 day advance scheduling privilege. Also, any member who ultimately reaches, pays full dues-basis, receives the 10 day schedule privilege. We encourage discussion with current members to confirm that there is plenty of available slots and times. Good advance planning will meet all player’s needs. Since the change to tee times as the standard for controlling the queue on the golf course, the ability to accommodate spontaneous needs and prevent long wait lines is eliminated
Tournament play for all full golf members and the tournament schedule is on the calendar, and on our website. Registration for tournaments should be made through the office in the clubhouse. Payment for all events are billed to the member account.
Pace of Play: The ultimate theme, message, for pace of golf at RCC, a member requirement, is to be IN-TOUCH with the group ahead. The course has been rated for pace of play at 4 hours and 05 minutes. We take pride in keeping awareness for/of ready golf at all times. All golf play is governed by tee times, reserved on the internet and/or through the golf shop. Times are based on 10 minute intervals usually. Our golf shop will gladly train, help more deliberate players be aware of mutual respect for all members.
Attire: We encourage and expect a tasteful appearance by ALL Members and their families, Guests and their families, and staff entirely within the Country Club facilities, in a smart casual manner. It should be contemporary with the times, yet still project a distinctive image of a PRIVATE country club.
For example, we enable, in the CLUBHOUSE Grille Room, the social center of the club, the wearing of jeans all year round. They are acceptable in fashion terms in todays’ society, and can be quite expensive and designer inspired; particularly known as ‘dress jeans’. Thus, we clearly accept that situation. However that is not to be confused with, and we do NOT enable, wearing soiled and tattered working jeans.
The Golf dress standards are typical of almost all PRIVATE COUNTRY CLUBS. More details are included under the Golf Information in the pull-down tab identified as "Membership". Please note RCC will not compromise on the traditional shirts-tucked-in rule, for example. Shirts must not be worn outside the pant/short etc. Also, cargo shorts are absolutely not acceptable. To clarify, shorts with external pockets, pleated or otherwise, but clearly extending outside of the leg line are unacceptable. In practicality though, what would be the standard and acceptable at any other private cc, is RCC’s policy for all golfers; Members and Members’ guests.
Leagues: The 9 hole Men’s league is held on Wednesday afternoons beginning around 2:30 to 6:00 tee time. Women’s leagues are held on both Wednesday morning beginning around 9, and Tuesday evenings from 3:00. The Couples league plays randomly during June-July-August 7-8 times Thursday afternoons.
Mondays are often allocated for ‘outside’ outings. Private country clubs of the Rochester District Golf Association typically enable non-profit organization fund raisers, Charity sponsored events, on Monday afternoons, with shotgun start format. This serves the dual purpose of offsetting operational expenses, and meeting an obligation spirit of giving back to the community. These are interspersed through the golf season. We also honor member requests for small group outings on occasional Tuesday or Thursday, usual morning. RCC is also industry affiliated with local and national golf associations such as the RDGA and USGA, the PGA of Western New York, and Junior Golf associations. All the private clubs are on annual revolving agenda to host tournaments and events by these organizations. These are a necessary obligation as a supporter of the game of golf, and our image amongst the private clubs of the area.
In 2017 we offer these league play opportunities for FULL Golf members:
* Ladies 9 hole league play on Tuesday mornings
* Ladies 9 hole P.M. – Tuesday’s, late afternoons
* Men’s 9 hole league on Wednesday’s
* Couples 9 hole league on intermittent Thursday late afternoons; 8 spread during the golf season.
We provide a full golf calendar, truly offering plenty of opportunity for various agendas:
* Leagues provide various skill levels, genders.
* Tournaments; 1,2, 3 day events: These would include individual club championships, member/member and member/guests, and season opening and closing events, as well as unique one-day competition.
* Season long events: match play best ball single elimination
* ‘Sweeps’ on weekends typically, competing for individual gross and net results on a daily basis
* ‘Skin game’, a member run group at 10 AM most weekdays
* Players of all skill levels have leagues and tournament offerings.
Reciprocal Play: We partake in a program of reciprocity with other private clubs, to accommodate travel and flexibility within the regional NYS area. All play is no cost to the respective member. Requests for tee times at those clubs MUST be made by our Golf shop. We expect our members, and expect the same of all our reciprocal partners, to partake in food and beverage services of the host club, and to pay for riding carts always.
The Golf Calendar on the member website provides an accurate schedule of events. These are a great way to meet other members and participate in a regularly scheduled game. The club has several different types of leagues including ones designed specifically for men, ladies, couples.
The Golf Center, ‘Pro Shop’ is staffed by a PGA Class A Professional, Andy Smith and two PGA certified assistants, Rob Comerer and Curran O’Brien, along with a complete bag assist staff.
